After 97 Years of Charitable Work, The Sun Sadly Sets On St. Anne’s Rotary

Sadly, just three years short of their centenary, St. Anne’s Rotary have had to decide that they will no longer be able to provide their much-valued support for the community. Underpinning this difficult decision is the inability of the organisation to bring in new younger members to join and assist the long-established club.

A Spokesperson for St Anne’s Rotary explained, ‘Just three years short of our century and we are saddened to say that we been forced to declare that we can no longer continue to support the community.

Over the past year we have worked hard to bring in new members as the existing team is ageing and no longer able to continue with the fundraising for which we have become known over the past 97 years.

But we are proud of the fact that over those years we have been able to support many worthy causes, both locally, nationally and internationally.

As the sun is setting on our club we wish all the organisations in the town the very best for the future, knowing that many are finding themselves in a similar position with changing lifestyles among the younger generations.

We would urge everyone to think about the kind of town they want for their families’ futures to ensure the Carnival, Kite Festival and other activities that make it such a fun place to live and visit will continue.’
